On April 6, I ran on the Yang’s Fitness Center team in the fourth annual Run for the Troops 5K in Andover, MA. All proceeds benefited the building of a specialized home for an injured war veteran. For this race, we ran to help Army vet Matt DeWitt and his family. He lost both arms below the elbow to an RPG. (You can find out more about him here.) Back in January, Yang’s Fitness Center also held the 2nd annual Troop Challenge to benefit the same charity.

This was only my second 5K in my life and I am happy to report that I finished in 34:59. I’ll never win my age category; I’m just glad I finished at all! It was a great day to run and a great charity to support.
