On Sunday, May 4, I ran in the first annual Colleen Ritzer 5K in Andover.  The race was held in honor of Ritzer, a popular teacher who was murdered at Danvers High School. You can check out some local news coverage of the race via CBS Boston.

It was amazing to run in a sea of thousands of pink shirts during the race. The course was started on an uphill and continued on an up/down rolling terrain for the first half. Part of the course wound through the bird sanctuary at Phillips Academy, which was lovely except for the giant hill! Overall it was a fantastic run and it was great to help raise money for the scholarship fund that was created in her memory.

You can find out more about the Colleen Ritzer 5K on their web site or by following them on Twitter.

Finish times for the 5K
I was excited for my 33:04 finish, which is fast for me!
