On April 5th, I had the chance to make another visit to one of my favorite places – the National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. This center, not to be confused with the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall, is actually two hangars measuring 760,000 square feet!

Of course, my favorite part of visiting Udvar-Hazy is the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar where the Space Shuttle Discovery is on permanent exhibit. It’s always great to see the crowds – especially the kids – get excited about seeing a space shuttle.


Space Shuttle Discovery

The Udvar-Hazy Center is a must-see for any aviation buff or space geek. In addition to Discovery, there are some amazing aircraft on exhibit like the  Boeing B-29 Superfortress “Enola Gay” that dates back to World War II (below).
