This past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the 31st annual Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival in Connecticut for the first time. I’ve long wanted to see a balloon glow so we chose to go on the first night of the festival, which featured a balloon glow at dusk.
As I suspected, there was no shortage of photo opportunities at the balloon glow. I’ve never been to another hot air balloon festival so I can’t compare, but the colors, fire, and crowds made for so many great compositions. My favorite shots are the close-ups mainly because of the intense light and heat when the balloon operators would fire up their balloons.
Below are a few of my favorite shots. You can see the full photo set at my photo site at Photos.Frembes.com.
